The day is built around how students learn best. Hard academic work goes in the morning, on the freshest brain. The afternoon is where that learning has to prove itself. The structure serves the learning - not administrative convenience.

I spent years watching confident children enter this stage and seeing how much the environment around them could shape what happened next. EduPrep grew out of a simple question: What would sixth grade look like if we designed the school around sixth graders first? That question grew into something larger: helping families understand the transition whether or not EduPrep Academy ultimately becomes their child's school.

Questions Parents Ask
Before you call, a few honest answers.
EduPrep is new. How do I know it's legit?
Fair question, and we'd ask it too. EduPrep is part of the KaiPod microschool network , which supports small, intentional schools like ours. We keep enrollment small on purpose, and we'd rather you visit and see it firsthand than take our word for it.
Why do you only serve sixth grade right now?
Because trying to serve too many ages at once is exactly what keeps most schools from paying real attention to any of them. We're growing on purpose, so the students who start with us now can grow with the school.
What does the phone-free policy actually mean?
Devices are put away for the school day — no group chats, no social media, no status anxiety during the hours that matter most. If you need to reach your child, you can always reach the school directly.
Will my child fall behind academically?
The opposite is the goal. Because we only serve one grade, every afternoon is built around real academic depth — not managing five age groups at once. Assessment-first, quarterly milestones, real feedback — not just a seat filled for the year.
What does a typical day look like?
Mornings are academic-focused. Afternoons open into hands-on labs, projects, and exploration tied to that quarter's theme. It's structured, but it's not a bell schedule shuffling kids through disconnected periods.
What if my child is shy or nervous about a new setting?
That's exactly who this is built for. Seating and small-group work are intentionally rotated every day, and our daily SEL Circle is built to make sure no one is left figuring out where they belong on their own.
How small is small? What's class size like?
This year's founding class is 10 families . That's intentional — small enough that every child is known by name, not just enrolled.
Is there a waitlist? How many spots are left?
Because we cap the founding class on purpose, spots go quickly once word gets out. Call or take the quiz and we'll tell you exactly where things stand right now.
What does tuition cost?
That's worth a real conversation rather than a number on a page — it depends on your family's situation. Call or schedule a conversation and we'll walk through it honestly.
What if my child doesn't know anyone here yet?
Almost none of our founding families knew each other beforehand either. Seating and small-group work are intentionally rotated so every student connects with every other student — belonging isn't left to chance here.
Are you working toward accreditation?
Yes — we're currently in the self-study and candidacy process toward WASC accreditation . As a founding-year school, we're building that record deliberately rather than claiming it before it's earned.
